I'm really sorry that it has come to this. Thanks for all your work over the years Marco. You made a big contribution to our club. I wasn't involved in all this infighting and turmoil and can see both sides of the argument, but, as the longest serving member in the Anglo-Allied Army, I do just want to say that I am saddened by the whole thing...

i really cant believe these ... as contacting with both veterans sometimes for some club issues i realised they are both gentlemen ... how can there be a conflict between really unbelieveable and disappointing ...

Marco.....

I am very sorry to read this. You have been a stalwart force in the Coalition and AAA for many, many years and were the pride of the much beloved Dutch-Belgians. I recall a time when we had many of those folks in the Club and the history of the forces they commanded shared. The many scholarly articles written by Geert or Erwin and others. A practice and concept long lost on the Club at this point. It helped me gain a new appreciation for the Dutch-Belgians, especially in the Waterloo Campaign.

Thanks form your support as Coalition CiC when I managed the Prussians/Combined Armies. I know I could be a handful sometimes, but we always managed to work things out, which I am thankful for. You DID uphold the traditions of the Club and the Coalition with the independent armies and did your best to keep them going too. You had a lot of demands placed on you, but you did well, all things considered. Your legacy is well secured and your contribution does not go unnoticed by those who benefited from it or worked with you first hand. I sometimes wonder what our old friends would think, those who are long lost to the Club these days and just faceless names to the many members who never knew them. With each veteran who leaves, a piece of that legacy goes with them too.

I salute you with the highest of honor and respect!

Maybe one day, we will see you again!

I remember we fought a couple of time several years ago and it's a pity to read such a thing about that conflict that I completely ignore. I think you are not a man who is easily changeable so it's very sad to see you leaving that way but who knows?... I left 3 or 4 years ago because I really got tired of fighting but finally, on this year, I returned, who could not resist again the call of the field of honor!

Let us honour the loyal and worthy opponent! that we will miss...
