Something to consider when you recrew artillery.
A morale value of "F" corresponds to a numerical value of 1. (This shouldn't be different for an ad-hoc gun crew.) The die roll can be 2-6 for the unit to fail the morale check. Thus, the probability of the recaptured artillery battery routing after being fired upon (and a gun loss occurs) is 5/6, or approximately 83.33% if the precheck fails (loss / (loss + 25)), with one gun equaling 25 men
+------------+---------------------+------------------------+------------------+ | Gun Losses | Equivalent Men Lost | Precheck Fail Chance % | Routing Chance % | +------------+---------------------+------------------------+------------------+ | 1 | 25 | 50.00 | 41.67 | | 2 | 50 | 66.67 | 55.56 | | 3 | 75 | 75.00 | 62.50 | | 4 | 100 | 80.00 | 66.67 | | 5 | 125 | 83.33 | 69.44 | | 6 | 150 | 85.71 | 71.43 | +------------+---------------------+------------------------+------------------+
