I have few questions about artillery in the games I was wondering why don't cannons fire grapeshot and or canister shot in the games? And why is it when you attack artillery positions you don't get the cannons on your side? like when you capture supply wagons...

A while back, one of the upgrades increased the effectiveness of cannon fire in the "mid-range" that was supposed to emulate canister/grape shot fire at infantry. ( Do I remember that correctly? )

As to your other point, I agree. It would be nice if there was an ability to capture artillery as in other games.

Not sure, but you can always use the alternate.pdt for 1812 or FIW.
