 Post subject: patch help needed

My computer died on Monday and yesterday I got my new one. I am in the process of installing my software for the games (currently working on 1812). I went to get a patch and tried a game I am playing, but I get an error message. I believe the version I am running is 1.04a. What am I doing wrong? My tool bar looks difffernt than usual too. It has a button for saving files, opening files, and another that I don't remember seeing before. Any thoughts?
