Next on the list of weapons from the EAW is the Kentucky Long Rifle.

Discussion on the range varies in the link from 200 to 400 yards.

That turns out to be from 6 to 10 hexes. Or right in the 9 hex max range ballpark.

Were the Tennessee and Kentucky units under John Thomas at New Orleans in 1815 armed with (Kentucky) Long Rifles? The OB only has them armed with regular muskets.

One of the most homespun weapons of North America (along with the Bowie knife) this legendary weapon was a fearful tool in the hands of a woodsman.
