Got word via email from Nik today. The family all survived the quake, but are quite shaken (no pun intended) from the event. Sounds like a lot of damage from items crashing offe shelves, etc., though the house seems okay. No water or sewage, but he has electricity. They're staying with her mom. Keep them Kiwis in your prayers, please.
