Ahh, two of my old rivals poke their heads up from their protective tree houses. You chaps still wearing the same old worn out, faded dungarees I see! You really should bathe and change your "uniforms" more often I say! Mr. B almost went crackers when he saw your names. I had to calm him with a whole turkey (your national bird representative yes?) leg so he could take out his aggressions on that. I do confess to showing him your pictures which he devilishly ripped to shreds right out of my hand. Well, at any rate, it's a delight to smell you two vagabonds even from far away again! I expect we'll cross bayonets/pitchforks again soon, what what??
A little update on my personal chronicles:
I'm recently retired from the St. Louis Art Museum and after a few months lolling about, I'm now teaching chess at a few local schools as my main pastime. I'm also in "gentleman gardener mode", taking care of Natta Manor, and the Madam of the Manor, building models, flying kites, metal detecting, playing board and PC games, generally anything that strikes my fancy. I'm amazed to discover that when you don't have to report to an official job, things like painting rooms, cutting grass, general upkeep and maintenance, are actually pleasures to enjoy at my own pace. But I'm doing very well and have no complaints worth mentioning. In my extended absence, I've thought about this Club and all my friends here many many times and I'm glad and grateful that Scott Ludwig was so considerate in inviting me to rejoin. My current assignment is leading His Majesty's Royal Marines, which for me bookends nicely with my previous command of the 1st Foot Guards, who I may rejoin sometime in the future. That's pretty much what I've been all about recently, I'd like to hear what's new with anyone who cares to respond, new friends and old....and I mean OLD!
